Corner Battles – Pressure – SAG

1. Both nets face the corner. Coaches and players as diagramed.
2. The coach places the puck in the corner and calls out a number, for example, “2.” Two players from each line will leave.
3. Players battle for the puck in the corner (small area) and work for a shot. After one of the players takes a shot, the rep is complete, and the players exit for the next group.
4. If the rep is too quick, the coach can place a second puck in.

KEY POINTS: 

– Goalies need to be quick, control rebounds and fight through traffic.

– Make sure players have a good body position.

– Make sure players do not look for perfect plays, get shots!

– Communication.
