F3 BACKCHECK – 3 ON 3

1.  F 1, 2, 3, skate around the zone passing the puck, waiting for the drill to start, while D1 and D2 skate and gap up waiting for rush.  On whistle, 1,2, & 3 attack D1 and D2.

2.  When the rush goes by, Forwards 4,5 & 6, position themselves at the top of the circles, waiting for a whistle and a pass from the coach.  D4 and D6 pop out ready to recieve the rush the other way.

3.  The high F from 1,2 and 3, backchecks (tracks) to make it a 3 on 3 coming back into the zone.

4.  Once the rush passes the the blueline, Forwards 7, 8, 9 go the the top of the circle waiting for the whistle and the pass from the coach.  D3 and D5 pop out to recieve the rush the other way.

Drill is continous.  Can play new puck as diagramed or use same puck.

KEY POINTS: D & F read rush / communicate / play 3 on 3 low / F3 – transition.
