Passing & Shooting Camp

Passing and receiving is one of hockey’s most important skills.  The ability to pass and receive the puck separates average and elite players in every category, from Atom to Pro Hockey.

The key to improving your passing is to master the simple technique of looking before you pass and the fundamentals of the forehand push pass.  Once the push pass is executed properly, the player will easily master the skills of all other passes, such as the snap pass.

Shooting is a passion for most young players.  The passing and shooting camp will give you the opportunity to practise the fundamentals of shooting and to work on the key aspects of your shot; quick release and accuracy.

Seminars will feature hockey instructional videos (will complement the ice sessions) and will introduce you to a mental training component such as goal setting, visualization, and much more!

Zoom sessions (both groups):  August 16 – 9:15 am to 10:00 am
(on your home computer)     August 17 – 9:15 am to 10:00 am

Players are sub-grouped into age & skill level.

GOALIES  WELCOME TO ATTEND AT DISCOUNTED RATE: full camp fee: $125.

GROUP DISCOUNT RATE: Organize a group of 5 players or more (teammates, friends, siblings, etc.) and receive a $50.00 discount.

How the discount works:

  1. Contact people that are not yet registered and send them this link: www.coachenio.com
  2. Assign a parent as the main contact who can communicate with us.
  3. Give your group a name (Smith Group).
  4. Please email us a list of players with their emails under the group name (you need 5 to start and add).
  5. We will send your parent contact a PROMO CODE.
  6. The families then register using the PROMO CODE.

7 to 1 PLAYER TO COACH RATIO – PERSONALIZED INSTRUCTION AND FEEDBACK FROM OUR PROFESSIONAL COACHES!      

Classes are limited to 18 skaters and 2 Goalies. Again, small classes, so you get lots of reps and lots of attention from our coaching staff!

HEAD COACH OF CAMP: Enio Sacilotto, 40 years of coaching experience. Coached Elite Men’s pro levels in England, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria (EBEL) and various National Teams. Former Assistant Coach, Victoria Royals, WHL. Currently coaching at the BWC Academy Hockey & the Croatian National Senior Men’s team. Check the website for credentials.

Coach Enio will conduct the camp along with his highly qualified coaches, who will assist him.

ON-ICE CURRICULUM

  • You will learn & practise techniques to master the forehand push pass.
  • You will learn & practice to keep your head up, read situations & make the right choice, and pass or shoot.
  • You will learn & practice how to touch pass with accuracy.
  • You will learn & practise techniques to receive passes.
  • You will learn & practice the wrist shots and snapshots.
  • You will learn & practice how to release your shot quickly (catch & release).
  • You will learn & practice how to get open in high-scoring areas.

OFF-ICE CURRICULUM

  • Video examples of passing & shooting skills.
  • Learn Mental Training techniques, including Goal setting & more.   
  • You will watch some inspirational stories.
