Picking your spot. Winning the battle. Every time.

By Coach Enio

In this clip from Coach Enio’s International Hockey Camps, Coach Jason Becker, from PCHA and a IHC Coach, breaks down one of the most overlooked skills in the game: winning a loose puck battle. It’s not about who wants it more, it’s about mechanics. Pick your spot in front of you, get body position, and win the inside lane before the puck even gets there. Small detail, huge impact on a player’s game.

This is exactly why we built our camps the way we did. At International Hockey Camps, every coach on our staff has real, high-level playing and coaching experience, and every one of them is genuinely passionate about developing the player in front of them, not just running drills.

We keep our classes small on purpose. Small groups mean more reps, more direct feedback, and more one-on-one coaching touches per player, every single session. This is a learning-and-teaching camp first. We’re not here to just skate kids around, we’re here to build hockey IQ and habits that stick.

We also run innovative Zoom calls before camp starts, where we walk through the skills we’ll be working on and add in some mental performance training, so players show up prepared, not just showing up.

Camps run in Victoria, BC and Burnaby, BC.
